Carlos Boozer. Hm. What to say?
We all know Booz, we all loved him, or hated, maybe a little of each.
Why did we love Booz?
Carlos had an extremely productive stay here in Utah. You could count him for 19-23 pts and 9-12 boards. Opponents did not like defending him. Him and Dwill and most of the Jazz and extremely good on court chemistry. Booz and Dwill knew the offense in and out and ran it to perfection. When it comes down to it, Boozer won alot of games for the Jazz. He was a great player for the franchise.
Why did we hate Booz?
Carlos did NOT have an extremely productive career in Utah on the defensive side. The one sole defensive highlight from Booz (that I remember) was the block on Timmy in the playoffs a few years back. You could count on opposing players to score 19-23 points on him. Opponents liked to be guarded by him. Off court chemistry was always an issue, it seemed like there was never a clear leader of the team (dwill and booz). Many thought that Booz had a commitment issue. He played well on the court, but he bailed on Cleveland (oh poor cleveland..25 in a row...wow..) and then he left Utah on what could have been a promising team (FTR he joined another promising team). Many thought he milked, faked injuries. He missed apprx. 1/3 of his games in Utah. So you could count on the double double, but only 2/3's of the time. His attitude provided problems. He had a thing for talking on the radio where he would say things that were questionable for Jazz fans..He said he was getting a pay raise regardless, while being injured.. When it comes down to it, Boozer's attitude, off-court issues, injuries, and maybe even a lack of commitment will overshadow the extremely success he had on the offensive side of the court.
Oh Booz...
Well the Jazz play the
No other thoughts from me today, its dedicated to booz.
