When the Jazz acquired Al Jefferson last summer, people had great expections for the man. Many thought that he could replace, or almost replace Boozer completely, some even dared to say that “Big Al” could bring more to the Jazz then Carlos ever did.
No one was sure on that.
However, we all knew one thing at the start of this season, and that was that Al Jefferson was not going to be leading the Jazz, but our superstar pg Deron Williams would.
Deron struggled with the leadership all year long. Without Booze, Dwill had to take all the blame, whether he liked it or not. You could tell that all the crap going on was getting on his nerves. Some say his “winnning” instinct actually hurt the locker room, almost as if it was a cancer.
So with limited options, the front office traded dwill. Should we have done it? Well if he wasn’t going to stay, then yes obviously we should of. But we don’t know, we never will, because people will say what they say and you just have to take a side. When it comes down to it, I think that the it wasn’t the front office not having faith in that dwill would resign, but that didn’t have the faith in themselves that they could convince him to..anyways, just had to get my 2 cents in.
My point being. Al Jefferson went from a cellar dweller minny team, to utah, where he thought we were a lock playoff team. He was excited. We were excited. We all knew the possiblities, so did Dwill, who told Big Al himself that he would make him an all star.
Then it happened. The Jazz looked like a bubble contender team in November. Jazz fans were estatic, and growing more excited with each comeback. But the team was truely a mess. To many new players, a frustrated star player, a coach losing his fire and even his teams respect. The Jazz imploded. Their play downgraded to the play of teams like the Kings and Nets. Then boom, coach sloan and phil out. Thats alright, its a new “dwill/corbin” era right? No, boom, dwill gone. The past 5 years, the jazz had been a competetive team in the NBA. They go to the playoffs each year, and make it past the 1st round all but once. Now what?
Al Jefferson thats what. Al Jefferson has done what D-Will coudn’t do. He is leading this team, not only by going out and getting stats, but by example. Not only is this guy playing amazing, he is playing the best ball of his career. He is literally willing the Jazz to each of the few victories that the Jazz have had in the past few weeks.
As of last game, he is leading the league in ppg since the all star break with 28, he’s shooting a stellar 60% from the field. And when you compare him to the other superstars, he getting 2-4 less free throws per game, which is outrageous, since his game is based in the paint.
Anyways, my point being, I love this guy. Not only is he putting up all star, actually, superstar numbers, he wants to be hear. He doesn’t care about the media, he doesn’t care what we say, or what anyone says, he’s out there to lead our team to victory. I respect that.
Anyways, Jazz play minny tonight, ak is back, but paul isn't, this puts evans starting again, yes over favors, we'll see how that goes. Oh Love is GTD. Anyways, I kinda just wrote that huge post, so that is it for today. out.
